How goals change on keto, getting around the cheat mentality, choosing memories over macros, the reasons for continuing to choose keto, and so much more.

Chances are, if you’ve ever followed a diet, you’ve also heard about cheat meals, or cheat days. Framing eating higher carb food as “cheating” has brought me a lot of shame in the past, which triggered a lot of restrictive behaviors around food, so I stay away from that word for the most part. But I know many people who use the term, and I thought maybe it deserved a bigger conversation.

Whether you count your macros, enjoy cheats or treats, or go with a more intuitive approach, my message is always this: you are free to decide what works for you, and you can change your mind at any time. I think this podcast episode is a great example of growing into your approach, and I hope you enjoy!

We chat a lot about common keto questions, where people struggle and all those sorts of things in this episode. I chat about that very topic more in depth in my digital program, The Keto Beginning, starting on page 55. I also chatted about how to overcome newcomer hurdles from pages 92 to 102.
