So, what’s this newfangled “intermittent fasting” thing all about? You’ve likely come across the concept at some point in your wellness journey. It’s gaining popularity, and for good reason. Simply put, intermittent fasting is the strategic utilization of shorter fasting periods. But why fasting?

Well, the science is in and the benefits of fasting are many. Wanna lose body fat without slowing down your metabolism? Don’t cut your calories. Instead, cut all calories for short periods of time. Note, don’t read that and think that I promote fasting as a daily thing. Make intermittent fasting work for you, not against you. For more details, watch this video.

Fasting will also do wonders for your insulin sensitivity, blood sugar, triglycerides, blood pressure, cholesterol – the list goes on.

If you’ve ever considered switching up your keto routine with the occasional fast, this video will give you everything you’ll need to get up and running, in the healthiest way.

  1. I am new to keto but do intermittent fasting from 7/8 pm to noon. the problem is that i am not that hungry. i am eating around 1000 calories a day. how do i know how many is enough? my goal is to lose weight and become more lean. i am 5″4 and was 140 lbs. but i lift and always weigh heavy. ty

    • Too much fasting can suppress your appetite– it happens to me! 1000 calories is not enough, so perhaps consider cutting down on the fasting to see if that helps boost your appetite.

  2. Hi Leanne!

I found you about a month ago and don’t understand how I missed all of the wonderful information you share.

What drew me back to your channel is the whole idea of “carb up” I’ve reached a plateau and need a break through! So I’m going to try “carb up” option 1. Last meal of the day. Hopefully this will help me get back on track to losing more weight and help with just one other issue.

I’m not losing my hair (I don’t think) but I am having an unbearable irritated scalp. It itches like crazy. And all of the scratching is making it sore. I’ve bought a ton of products to soothe the scalp, but that is just a bandaid…its not really solving the problem. Could this be related to Keto? I’ve been on a strict Keto lifestyle since Jul 1 of this year.

  3. I stumbled up your podcast about a week ago. I love what I’m hearing. They are interesting and intriguing. I’m very interested in learning more and how to live on a Keto diet. Look forward to finding your book and learning more!!

    • I’m so glad you’re loving it! Good luck on your keto journey!

  4. I clicked on the pink box, put in my email and name and clicked the big pink button “instant access”, nothing happened. I tried this several times, even used a different email address. Am I doing something wrong?

    • Hey, Serena! It looks like the email was sent to you, so be sure to check your junk/spam folder for the email. If you still can’t find it, message my team and they’ll make sure you get it :)

  5. trying to watch this but there is no sound and the captions only come up in Dutch.
    Please advise. Thanks.

  6. I’ve also been experimenting with a fasting protocol and so far its become very clear that my body does not like the fasting when I am in my ovulatory cycle. It tends to cause hunger issues in the later half of the day and I find myself with crazy cravings. This doesn’t happen at all when I fast during the second half of my cycle. In fact my body really thrives when following a time restricted eating plan during this time. With that in mind, during the first half of my cycle, I start my day with a fatty green smoothie full of good stuff and then I’m fine, no craving later in the day, all is well. Wondering if you have notice any difference in fasting during the first half of your cycle vs the second half.

(Love your latest book and spread your gospel to all the women who will listen!)

    • So interesting! I notice that my hunger levels (especially for protein) really increase during my ovulatory phase as well. I usually don’t fast during that time because I’m extra hungry. Love that you’re listening to your body and not forcing the fasting when it doesn’t feel right!

I’m so glad you love the book– thank you, Gina! :)
