Video: 4 Reasons Why You’re Not Losing Weight

4 Reasons Why You’re Not Losing Weight #weightloss #keto #lowcarb

4 reasons why you’re not losing weight that go beyond the calories you’re consuming or the restrictions you’ve placed on your body.

This is my favorite topic right now, and something I know so, so many of you are struggling with. Whether you’re keto, low-carb, high-carb, paleo, vegan, whatever. If you’re frustrated with your body, or fearful of it changing, today’s video is for you.

This topic is important because I’m hearing a lot of “my body is working against me”, “why won’t my body do what I want it to do?”, “I’m gaining weight, AH”, “I hate that I can’t lose weight”, and “If I lower my calories a couple hundred, will I start losing weight again?”.

What if I told you that the plateau you’re experiencing – the inability to lose weight, the ongoing struggle of doing everything in your power to lose weight, resulting in nothing, has nothing to do with calories?

A must-watch if you’re frustrated with feeling like you can’t lose weight, lower calories, restrict even more, and the scale doesn’t budge.

  1. I have hypothyroid. It is amazing how sensitive the body is. We put it thru hell and then i expect it not to react. Love your videos . i have been tryng to lose weight for months, Hopefully i will figure out how to let my body heal. Ihave been trying for months.

    • Right? Totally amazing. Have you tried the daily fat burner profile in Fat Fueled? It usually works best for those with hypothyroidism!

  2. Been working with your Keto Book and on my own for about 3 months now. Love your book! I am finding the sweet cravings so unbearable that I have found myself binging on anything sweet! I never had this before. I have cut out sugar for the most part ( used to be double double coffee’s all day) so wondering if its because of the sugar sub. I now use? and I too, am not loosing the way I thought I would with cutting down/out refined sugar?

    • It could be! What substitute are you using? Monk fruit sweetener is my favorite lately, but I use it very sparingly. Perhaps try satisfying your cravings with a sweet fat bomb, but slowly decrease the sweetener in it each time you make it? Eventually, your taste buds should adjust and you won’t need as much sweet. Additionally, strong cravings can be a sign that you’re not getting enough of something. You can check out pg. 53 in Fat Fueled for what craving sweets can mean.

      • Hi Leanne,
I have purchased Fat Fueled and weekly Keto meals. I must say I would really like to get into this Keto thing, but I am having such a very hard time finding Coconut Aminos, Coconut butter, Beef Tallow, and all the stuff that’s high fat you indicate in your recipes. Grass fed butter priced at $11.00 I just can’t afford that. So I stick with what I can afford. Since I’ve tried Keto, I’ve gain a lb and I feel it around my belly as I have more jiggle. However my pants in the leg and but area fit a little looser but very little. A little of my history. I’ve been on 300 mg Webutrin for over a year for depression(it is supposed to also reduce weight) It hasn’t. I have had Hashimoto’s since I was 21. I’m 55 now and lately it’s been low as I retain alot of water weight, foggy headed, I can’t handle stress, some constipation. I workout with my personal trainer 4 X week. Before I got all stressed out with anxiety and depression last October, I was a niece lean 112 ilbs. I looked and felt great. Then the anxiety and depression kicked in from my job. I took 9 months off and let myself go to pot. Mind you I didn’t care about anything period. I’m back at work, but I’m struggling with my fluctuation of weight from 130 to 118. I can’t keep it steady and when I’m at around 121 I feel like crap. I don’t have the energy to give it my all in my workouts. Arnold presses with 15 lbs dumbells is a challenge at 10 reps. Before I could do 15 lbs 15 reps or 20 lbs at 10 reps. My I have no strength in my legs. Any time I do some form of leg workout even taking a good flight of stair, my muscles ache like crazy. It’s like there is no blood going to my muscles. I take L-glutamine 2 X day with water, B12 supps, Magnesium, Vit E, a multi vitamine, chromium, zinc,Vit D 5000. I eat as much good fat as I can but I’m still hungry. I used to eat 6 x a day. I crave protein like crazy. Like I can polish off 7 pieces of KFC if I was offered. I can polish of a 10-12 oz steak no problem. I have always had an enormous appetite, even as a little kid. I’ve cut out majority of my sugar like fruit and the like. However I do use about 1/4 tsp in my coffee with the top up from liquid stevia. And I crave coffee. I can put 3 16 oz away a day. I know that’s not good. So as you can tell I’m frustrated I can’t fully get into this lifestyle change because I don’t have all of the good fats required. I hear and read people that have lost 3-5 lbs in 3 weeks. That kills me to hear that. I try and fight so hard. I spend money on things I think will help me. I really want to feel good by not feeling bloated, heavy with water, no energy, etc. Do you have any suggestions?

  3. Hi leanne hope you read this..I followed ketogenic eating a year ago..I really found it interesting and generally felt more energized..but didn’t lose the weight I was hoping to lose..I bought your fat fueled program..I am confused..what is the difference between the 3 profiles..pls correct me if I am wrong..with keto u do carbups every 3-4 days..with adapted fat burner u adapt on Keri first..then u do carbups every day?? Does this imply to workout every day to lose weight?? And the daily fat burner is neglecting the adaptation phase..and carving up every day also??

Another thing..when choosing from the list of meals in chapter 19..all the profiles share breakfast and lunch right..?? Then if I choose the adapted fat burner I will choose from the carbup dinners???

I am sorry I am so mixed up..also..I am really confused regarding the plate layout..I understand that the percentages in the figures represent percentages of the plate..what if I am going to eat a cream cheese pancake with eggs, cream cheese and almond flour..topping it with almond butter..a tsp of berries …how can I map this to one of the plates??

I really hope I can reach my goals using your program..

    Thank you

    • Hi, Sarah! These would be such great questions for the private Facebook group. Would you mind posting them in the group and then tagging me so I can answer them there for you?

  4. I haven’t read through all your materials yet but really hope you can help! I tried going keto a short time back and I don’t know if maybe I wasn’t eating enough carbs? I was following a different program where you carb up at 10 days. Starting day/ night one, I started spotting and ended up having my period for 14 days (yikes! And it started two weeks too early!). I also could not sleep at night for more than 2-3 hours at a time. It was horrible. I went on a vacation and didn’t eat any particular way and was able to sleep and finally stopped menstruating. I am seeing a naturopath for thyroid and adrenal support. I’m 41 years old and a normal weight but have gotten “skinny fat”. I still think keto is the way to go but don’t know what I was doing wrong. I felt great other than the two problems I mentioned. Help? Thanks!

    • Hey, Becky! Yep, it sounds like not enough carbs or calories could have been the culprit. Do you have my program, Fat Fueled? You could try following the Daily Fat Burner profile, which is best for supporting hormones because it includes a bit more carbs than the other profiles in the book.

  5. Hi Leanne,

I am having a hard time connecting with you!
I ordered the program about 1 month ago…it is not what I thought….please credit my account as you said in your video…if we are not satisfied. ..we can get a credit.

    Thanking you in advance!

  6. I’ve switched over to a high fat low carb eating style about 10 weeks ago and I have never felt better, have no more PMS and almost no menstrual cramps and I lost 10 pounds of fat. I had been meticulously tracking macros until I went on a 10-day trip where I didn’t track anything I ate but still followed the principles of a high-fat diet (Having coffee or tea with a big glob of grass fed butter in the morning really helps!). Surprisingly when I got back I discovered I had continued losing weight at the same rate as when I was tracking macros. I am considering stopping completely the tracking and just going with my feeling once I reach the 3 month mark. Thanks for your inspiration and enthusiasm!

  7. Thank you so much for all your encouragement and help! I have been doing Keto strictly for 5 weeks now. The first 10 days I lost 10 pounds which was super exciting! Over the last almost 4 weeks though I have lost nothing. I’m getting kind of discouraged and wondered if you have any advise for me, please and thank you!

      • I tried one night where I ate a serving of potatoes but I didn’t notice any differences. I have actually now gained 5 pounds in almost 2 weeks and I’m extremely discouraged. :-(

        • I’m sorry you’re feeling discouraged! Do you have Fat Fueled? There is a chapter all about weight gain and plateaus. It explains various reasons why you may be gaining weight on keto. Perhaps it would be helpful for you to check this out!

  8. Hi. I’ve been following you and love your info.I don’t eat meat 40 years. Do you have good meal recipes for us high fat vegetarian? I eat the same, lots of eggs, salads, tofu cooked in coconut oil, ect?

  9. So, I’ve been eating plant-based since January 1. I’m eating 1400 calories, with the following macros: Carbs-35 grams; Fat-124 grams; Protein-35 grams. I walk 60 minutes at 3.5-4 mph daily. Disappointinly, I’ve not lost 1 lb, nor have I gained. Extra info, I’m 53, with type II diabetes (I take metformin and victoza) and I’m premenopausal. I followed a ketogenic woe prior to January, but my lipid panel results were such that my endocrinologist wanted to prescribe a statin. I didn’t want to take any more meds, so I’m hopeful that plant-based will help. Any suggestions?

    • Hi, Louanne! Thanks for sharing. Do you have Fat Fueled? Chapter 13 is ALL about plateaus. This chapter explains the reasons you may be experiencing a plateau while eating keto and includes ways you can bust through your plateau. I hope this helps!
