Video: Keto and High-Fat Eating For Women

Video: Keto and High-Fat Eating For Women #highfat #lowcarb #keto

A high-fat, keto program and meal plan created for women. Get off the diet wagon and uncover a body (and life) you love by fueling, and healing, with fat and whole food-based nutritional ketosis.

Eating fat (like, a lot of fat), has changed everything for me. My health, my body, emotions, relationships, hormones, digestion, everything.

Since the launch of my first high-fat, keto program, The Keto Beginning, I’ve had the opportunity of coaching hundreds of amazing women through designing a high-fat, keto eating style that works best for them. I discovered very quickly that most women, including myself, required an adapted version of the classic ketogenic diet if they wanted to experience continued (positive) results.

While I’m sure there are a bunch of women out there that can go extremely low-carb, keto and benefit greatly, the women I was working with didn’t. And, this was my experience, too. Over the last year, I have gathered every strategy, result and resource to create a high-fat, keto diet specifically geared toward supporting women.

Hey, guys. It’s Sunday, it’s not Wednesday, and there is a new Healthful Pursuit video in your video feed. What is the world coming to? High-fat, keto for women. Maybe you’ve been eating high-fat, keto for a little while and you’ve hit some walls, and you’re like, “What the heck is going on? This doesn’t make sense to me.” Or you’ve heard somebody talk about eating high-fat, keto and you’re like, “Oh, that sounds pretty cool,” or “That sounds crazy. I’m a crazy person. I want to give it a try.”

I’ve been shouting on the mountaintops about how powerful a high-fat, keto eating style has been for me and my clients and my life. I realized very early on in my journey that the high-fat, keto eating style that many follow doesn’t really work for women that have imbalances, and most women have imbalances that may not even know it. They follow these programs, and after like two weeks they don’t see results or they hit a plateau. No matter what they do, they can’t get over that darn wall. They think, and I have done this as well, they think that it must be me so I’m just going to go back to the program and I’m just going to work harder and go harder and it will all work out just fine.

I wanted to start the conversation around the fact that maybe perhaps the approach that you’re taking probably isn’t right for you, and maybe you could try this other approach where we can develop a program that works well for your body. But there aren’t a lot of resources out there specifically for women. Going back to when I first started eating high-fat and extremely low-carb keto, is that I was feeling really good. I was feeling great, but there was this whole other health imbalance stuff that was just sitting there and not doing much of anything. It wasn’t getting better; it wasn’t getting worse; it was just sitting there.

Studying nutrition for as long as I have, going on ten years now, I know that the way that we eat can help our bodies, and support our bodies, and heal our bodies. I had tapped into this amazing resource of using high-fat, keto to balance my blood sugar and all the things, but I still had hormone irregularities and adrenal dysfunction. My thyroid was still messed up. I thought there needs to be a way to merge these two together.

After making this switch and understanding how to combine these two worlds, I started seeing some pretty powerful changes. My thyroid started getting better. My adrenal dysfunction started getting better and I got my period for the first time in almost eight years. I struggled with amenorrhea. These powerful shifts and everything that was going on with myself and my clients, I said I got to package this keto program up, make it as robust as possible so that other women that are either interested in high-fat, living high-fat, keto, or don’t even know what high-fat, keto living is, can come to this program, slide into fat burning mode without needing to go strict low-carb, keto all the time, and to really set the stage for balancing and healing so that our body slides into our happy place. Within that happy place it usually means that our body is at the weight it’s naturally supposed to be at. We don’t have to fight or poke or prod. We allow our bodies and our bodies want to be healthy and happy, so they’re naturally going to go to the state that they feel most comfortable and most balanced.

It would be crazy if I sat here and said, “Oh my gosh, my life is so perfect and it’s completely changed by following this keto program. You need to try this.” I don’t want you to get that impression. I am human. There’s still lots of things that I need to work on. Is this keto program perfect? No way, but is it a step in the right direction? Heck yeah. I feel that and I see that in my biomarkers, and my blood tests, and my energy levels and my moods, and my relationships with my friends and my husband. My relationship with food has changed. I feel like it’s powerful enough to share it with the world. I’m really, really, really, really excited to put this out there for you.

I’ll pull it up on my iPad so you can see it in action. You can see it on here, kind of. It’s kind of blurry. Not in real life, but there’s a window and the things are happening. It’s 300 pages and 20 chapters. I got to say, I can’t believe I wrote a 300-page keto program. This is just crazy pants. Whether you’re vegan or vegetarian or you’re allergic to eggs, you can consume this keto program. Even if you’re allergic to coconut, I’ve included a piece in there about coconut allergies. All to uncover your best self by fueling with fat.

I’d like to say that the one-size-fits-all approach to nutritional ketosis ends now with Fat Fueled. If you’re wondering how is Fat Fueled different than The Keto Beginning. With The Keto Beginning, it shows you why high-fat, keto eating works. With Fat Fueled, it shows you how to make it work specifically for you. If you’re fully committed to living a high-fat, keto, fat fueled kind of lifestyle, you could get both programs and understand exactly why it works, and then use Fat Fueled to understand how to make it work for you, and with very, very in-depth guides.

When you choose to join in on the keto party with your keto, fat fueled life, you will gain access to our private keto Facebook community so that you feel completely supported in nourishing yourself, balancing your body, getting to your body’s happy place. Become free from restriction and macronutrient manipulation regardless of what eating style you’re doing right now, so that you can gently transition to a new eating style where you feel supported and you can really uncover your best self. And that you feel super damn sexy following the keto program. You can go up here to my new keto program, Fat Fueled, or down below I’ve included links that go directly to my site so you can check it out. I will see you in just a couple of days.

  1. I was following your program as described in Keto beginnings pretty closely for the last 4 months. Then it was Halloween and there was a giant bag of candy that was left. Instead of giving it away or throwing it away, I went on a 4 day binge of candy, ice cream, bread, jelly, and anything I could find with sugar and carbs. Sanity is restored today and I am starting over but what the f…k was that about???? Any advice to avoid a repetition?

  2. Leanne, I love everything I am reading from you. Have you talked or worked with, or do you know of, any post-menopausal women who have used this way of eating with good results? I am 63, post-menopausal, not on any HRT now, although I was several years ago. I am on 3 low dosage prescribed meds for hypertension, arthritis, and hypothyroidism. Have been diagnosed with T2 diabetes, but have my A1c checked every few months, which is always in the normal range, and I have NOT been put on any meds or insulin injections. However, I am currently about 130 pounds over the optimum weight for my height, frame, and age. I did Atkins about 8 years ago, lost 100 lbs., felt good. Gradually started adding in more carbs (not all the good kinds, I admit), and gradually regained that lost 100! Hence, my current status. ? I would appreciate getting any info from you, about your program, for women in my category. Thanks for all you’re doing in this field- it is SO needed!
