I’m Too Scared, I Quit.

 I’m Too Scared, I Quit. Overcoming Self-Doubt #keto #lowcarb #highfat

It’s done, I can’t do it, I have nothing to say, people don’t like me, I can’t do it anymore. Overcoming fear and self-doubt is hard to do, but absolutely necessary if we want to live our lives with abundance, happiness, and freedom.

Quitting because we’re scared of the outcome is the WORST thing ever. I think back to the many, many times I almost quit something (this blog, the keto diet, my many programs, my new paperback, social activities with friends, etc.) and am SO thankful that I didn’t go through with it.

When you DESPERATELY want to quit something out of fear, that’s when you should keep going full steam ahead! This is especially true when we’re adjusting our eating style to align with our values.

I want to live life to the fullest. Don’t we all? The problem with that plan is fear and self-doubt. As soon as we’ve stretched our wings to realize our full potential, there goes that little voice inside our heads that says, “Who are you kidding? You’re a nobody” or, “There’s no way this is going to work” or,  “Sure, she did it… but I don’t think you can”… and the list goes on and on.

There are a lot of things that scare me. Being called out, confrontation, feeling unloved, not being accepted, looking like a fool, saying the wrong thing, improper pronunciation of medical terms, being rejected, being laughed at…

So many of these things have stopped me from living the life I want to live. And, I think you can relate. In today’s video, we’re chatting about fear, self-doubt, and how they’re keeping you from that perfect life you’ve always dreamed of.

Basically, think of this as a guide on how to do what you want to do, when you want to do it without worrying about what others will think.

  1. Hi Leanne,

First, Congratulations on the release of your book! I have a copy in my hands, and it is amazing! I am not in the position where I want to quit, but I’ve been in this weird funk since last Saturday where I cannot for the life of me eat anything that has to do with fat. I have been on Keto for 9 weeks now, and I was doing good; I was really enjoying eating! Now, I don’t really have an appetite, I feel nauseous at the site of fatty foods, and if I try to eat say some prosciutto with cheese as a snack, I feel like I am on the verge of vomiting. Any insights on what might be happening?

  2. I’m SO SO SO glad you’re still here after all these years!! I refer to your work and send others to your work on a monthly basis. Even when I’ve been crap about reaching out or interacting more directly, I have been so very grateful for your presence and expertise out here in the great blue nowhere!!!

    • Wow, thank you so much, Michelle! I am SO grateful for your support <3

  3. I did Atkins 30 years ago. I have done otherdiets since and one thing that they all have in common is that I gained back everything I lost plus 5 lbs more! I really like what I have read about keto but I have questions. I really don’t want to gain everything back again, SO, what happens after this diet? Can I eat fruit again? Can I have a brownie twice a year? Can I eat tomatoes, sweet potatoes and parsnips? I am not afraid of quitting, I am afraid of putting that much effort into it if it doesn’t work long term. I read somewhere about maintenance. Can you tell me more about that?

    • Hey, Sheri! Keto isn’t a “quick fix” diet, it’s a lifestyle with loads of benefits when kept long term. While you’re eating keto, you can TOTALLY enjoy fruit, brownies, and starchy veggies. These foods are great options for your carb-ups. Here’s a video all about carb-ups and the benefits. Also, check out the caption on my recent Instagram post about maintenance on keto and how it’s actually better to go for the chips or pizza or whatever I’m craving instead of restricting and not allowing myself the occasional treat. I hope this helps!
