6 Things For Awesome Health #paleo #primal #keto #lowcarb

6 of my favorite innovative keto products that make living an awesome, high-fat, keto life just a little bit easier.

There are keto things that I love… that I eat (and enjoy) a lot of, every day.

Which is why I started a little thing I call, “What Leanne Loves”, maybe you’ve seen it on the sidebar of the blog? Basically, every 3 months, I’ll be sharing 6 keto things – keto snacks, keto condiments, all sorts of keto foods, tools, and cool stuff that I’m obsessed with. These things make my life better. These things make me happy. And maybe… these things could do the same for you.

There are a lot of keto products out there, and a lot of companies that pay a lot of money to people like me to share those products with the world. This, is not that. I am not being paid for this.

I have found these keto products, I have loved these keto products, and I want to share them with you so that you can (potentially) love them, too!

Oh my gosh! It’s just you and me today. I’ve been so lucky to have so many really awesome guests on the show lately but it’s been a long time since I just sat here and we chatted about awesome things. Today is really super special because we have something new that came to Healthfulpursuit.com, my blog a little while ago. It’s a little thing that I like to call, What Leanne loves. See there are keto products that I love that I eat every day, that I use everyday and as I’m eating and using them, I’m thinking oh my gosh! I have to share this with my people. Things that when I’m introduced to them I say, what? Stop the bus. Wait, what did you just say that was made from? Every three months I’m going to be sharing 6 of these things so I want to let you know that I was not paid for this video. These products are things that I found on my own, that I got excited about and that I’m sharing with you because I think they’re awesome and I think that you could benefit from them.

Without further ado I have a bunch of really awesome keto products right here beside me and I’m going to be sharing them with you, starting with the loudest one because no matter what I do, you’ll hear them. Pork clouds by a company called Bacon’s Hair. What are pork clouds? Well they’re like Bacon but without the grease because you can notice that I always have bacon grease smudges all over my glasses, so this mitigates that. These are pork rinds that have been cooked in olive oil. They’re kettle cooked so the heat isn’t as high. You shouldn’t be cooking with olive oil, but most of the other pork rinds on the market today are cooked in like, conventional lard craziness or uh, canola oil or some sort of seed oil that scares the crap out of me. I would rather do olive oil.

They also save a little bit of pork rinds and make pork dust with it. I use the pork dust on things like breading or in my pancakes. I have a really awesome keto pork rind pancake recipe on my blog that I will link to below this video and this is good for anywhere where you would use breading like in burgers. [00:02:00] I’ve sprinkled it over salads. Sometimes I use the rosemary flavor as croutons so they’re really versatile. Often times I will just eat them as a keto snack. I’ve already opened a bag because I’ve tried to create this video so many times that I opened it on a previous take and this is what they look like see. They’re crispy and listen. Each of these small bags has 10 grams of protein, 6 grams of fat or so, and 100 calories if you care about that stuff. I don’t. I just eat til I’m full and then I stop and put down the pork rinds. If you are in Canada you can get these pork rinds at Low Carb Canada. A website. If you’re in the states you can order them from the Bacon’s Hair website and I will include both of the links below this video.

The second product, and maybe you read about this earlier on my blog. They are Epic Bars and they’ve been featured on the blog a couple of times. I love them so much. If you are the type of keto person that likes meat and wants to take meat with you everywhere then you can take meat with you everywhere with these. This one is the sesame barbecue flavored one. There’s an uncured bacon. You’ll see uncured bacon. A lot of people that I share this product with say, oh gross. Leanne it looks kind of weird on the inside. Why do they make it see through. That’s to show the quality but I get it. It kinds of looks a little weird. But when you open it up, I swear it’s not weird. Here I will open up the sesame barbecue one and you can see what I mean, you see, and excitement in epic proportions is that epic makes a liver bar.

If one of your resolutions or one of your goals this year is to eat more liver, get this bar. I hate liver. I eat one of these everyday now because it’s just so good, and easy to make sure that you’re eating your liver. It’s delicious and it comes in this little pack. I would show you what it looks like on the inside but I ate it. It basically comes in one of these but it’s just see through. [00:04:00] For my friends in Canada, you can pick up epic bars at one stop Paleo shop and if you’re in the US you can find them at any Whole Foods. I’ve been sharing these keto bars with all of my friends and everyone that I know and everyone’s super impressed and loves it. Why not carry a whole food, keto protein bar that’s made with keto-friendly whole foods and makes you feel awesome and is just protein in your purse all the time.

My third favorite product has nothing to do with eating. You can’t eat these but there very pretty and their called soul candy. Yeah you see? I have lots, I have like 20 of them. They’re little soulful reminders of how you want to live your life and the type of mind that you want to create so for instance this one says, I am powerful. I am present, and I am loved. I have a whole bunch. I carry them around in my purse. I’ve given them away as gifts. I think they’d be really great as a wedding gift. A little wedding favor for everybody if you put beautiful words on them. Amy creates all of these by hand at soulcandy.co. Each of them can be personalized. You can purchase little collections of things. You can really have fun with these and I just like to keep them in my pocket. Sometimes on the side of my bra just to remind me every moment of the type of space that I want to create for myself on a daily basis.

The next product. You are going to love this if you haven’t seen it already. It is avocado oil mayonnaise and you can see, it’s soy free, canola free. It’s made with cage free eggs. It’s sugar free, keto, and it’s paleo approved. It’s from primal kitchen and I’m going to read the ingredients to you. It’s quite mind blowing. It’s avocado oil, organic cage free eggs, organic egg yolks, organic vinegar made from beets not corn, sea salt, and rosemary extract. If you don’t like to make your own mayonnaise, as so many of you have said. I just don’t have a blender that’s going to make the awesome keto mayo that I want to make, [00:06:00] this keto mayo is awesome and it’s the best because all those healthy mayo’s are made with canola oil and that’s not good for you. You should not be eating canola oil mayonnaise, so this is so great that primal kitchen has come out with an avocado oil base mayonnaise that you can feel good about slathering on absolutely everything. If you’re in the US, you can pick up the mayo straight from Primal Kitchen’s website and if you are in Canada you can get it from One Stop Paleo Shop.

The next super innovative, awesome, exciting product is Barney Butter Bare Almond Butter, and you’re thinking what’s so innovative about almond butter. First this almond butter is made in a peanut free facility, so if you’re allergic to peanuts like this girl and die upon contact, it’s pretty good to make sure that your almond butter is peanut free. You don’t want to risk your life over almonds.

The second one is that if you are like me, and when you eat almonds your tummy hurts it’s probably because of the skins of the almonds, but Barney Butter removes the skins of their almonds before they make their almond butter. This version is called Bare Almond Butter and so it comes in a crunchy, there’s raw and chia, you can see the chia seeds there. They come in packs. This is the smooth pack and you can just see how smooth it is. This is a squeeze tube. So much better than yogurt squeeze tubes. You can just pack this in your keto lunch and eat this instead of yogurt, and your tummy can feel good after you eat them because your body won’t be fighting the acids in the skin to break it down. Their Bare version is keto and made 100 percent without sugar. It’s just almonds and palm fruit oil. If you are in the US, you can pick it up at any whole foods. You can also find it on amazon and for Canadians as well, I have purchased it from Amazon.

Okay last but not least we saved the heaviest for last. It’s a Berkey. Have you heard of these before? Super exciting. It’s a water filtration system and I’m going to tell you about how awesome this is and how it’s so much better than your Brita. Yeah. I said it. [00:08:00] I’m going to explain why this is better, why it’s cheaper and why perhaps maybe you would benefit from it, but first I’m going to show you what all this is. There’s two chambers to the Berkey. The first one is this thing and there’s still a little bit of water in it because I literally took this from a kitchen and brought it up to show you. So within here there’s these tall carbon filters and I’m going to explain what they do in a second, but basically the water goes in here and into another canister that usually sits below and they drip through these little pieces. These little knobs right here. You can see them there. Lid goes on, fill it up with water, lid goes on and it sits on your counter preferably by your sink because it makes it really easy to fill back up if it’s near your sink. It works on a gravity filtration system so you don’t need to plug it in to anything.

The one that I have is called a Big Berkey. It’s good for 2 to 4 people. There’s a bunch of different versions but the one that we have holds about 8.5 liters of water and those carbon filtration, those tall things that I showed you in that filtration device, they are carbon based filters that need to be replaced every 6 thousand gallons. That’s many years of water filtration without having to replace them. They’re also self sterilizing so you don’t have to do much with them. When I found the Berkey system, what I loved about it is that it removes a whole bunch of things. The first one is metals. Up to 99 percent of your metals are going to be removed from the water, also parasites and cysts. Pesticides, herbicides, pharmaceuticals in our water that’s a big one, viruses, detergents, VOC’s, nitrates, nitrites, organic solvents, the list goes on, and chlorine. There’s a whole list on their website of everything that is removed. It also makes the water taste so much better.

My tea tastes better. My coffee tastes better, so if you like so many families out there have those filtration systems that attach to your sink or you have a Brita, you’re spending about [00:10:00] 190 dollars a year on those filtration devices. Also the types of filters that you probably have on your faucet or in your fridge do not remove things like herbicides, and pesticides, and aluminum, or fluoride or heavy metal ions, so if there’s aluminum or lead in your water, you are drinking it regardless if you’re filtering it. Although nutrition is really important, so is the stuff that we put on our body, that we surround our body with and water. We are made up of so much water. It’s important to make sure that the water that we’re drinking is clean.

So there you have it. 6 products. Oh my gosh. I hope that one of them spoke to you and that you got super excited. I hope this is really helpful and if you want to learn more about how to live happy, healthy, awesome, high fat, deliciously whole food life, you should subscribe to my channel. I’ve included a link around the screen so you should just click it and subscribe and I will see you all next week. Okay, bye.

  1. I don’t have the space the the Birkey but I really want one. Currently we are using a RO filter under the sink. Any ideas?

    Thanks

  2. I was considering purchasing a Berkey, but found that the filter break after approximately 3 months of use. Apparently it’s a known issue and Berkey customer support is not very helpful. See here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBPudQR12bs

Have you had any issues with our Berkey filters breaking? Have you checked?

Great site and thanks for all the helpful info.

    • Wow, not at all! I’m so sorry to hear that, Jeff. Have you tried to call them? I’ve always had great customer service experiences with them…

  3. can you get that mayo in Calgary? Also what model of instant pot do you recommend as there’s a few different choices!

  4. sadly, they aren’t making the epic liver bars anymore. talked to epic by phone yesterday. :-(

    • I know, I just heard the news. A sad day… :( But their other bars are really good!

    • Alkaline water… it’s controversial. I had a filter for a long time and it did nothing for me. If you Google “alkaline water scam” or “alkaline water science” you can read a couple of articles there to help make up your mind.
