Make Your Smoothies Lighter with this Essential (inexpensive) Base Ingredient + New Smoothie Recipe and Giveaway

Ruby-Rose-Tea-SmoothieUsing this inexpensive ingredient as the base for your next smoothie lightens up your drink and boosts the health benefits without the added cost of superfood ingredients.

In the end, it’s about swapping high sugar ingredients for low sugar ingredients and tea is a fabulous (healthy!) way to do this.

Made from fermented leaves, herbs, fruits, seeds, or roots steeped in hot water, teas have high concentrations of antioxidants and chemical compositions that can potentially reduce inflammation, encourage healthy digestion and more.

Brew a cup, let it chill and add as a base to your next smoothie to cash in on these powerful health benefits…

I’ve been using Leaf & Ardor Tea Co. as a base for all of Kevin’s smoothies and popsicles this summer. They add natural flavors to his smoothies without the use of sugars or anything artificial. Their blends are mixed exclusively with organic ingredients, no synthetic fertilizers or pesticides, artificial colors, flavors or added sugars.

I met one of the owners, Connie, in New York last year. She; along with her business partner Cristina, have joined together with the highest quality organic tea suppliers and artisans to provide a premium selection of all-natural teas, fine gifts, and custom-curated gift boxes.

  1. I cant do caffeine but love tea can you suggest one with the least stimulant or none if that is possible..

  2. I used to use steeped tea as my smoothie base all the time, and somehow got out of it. I think I even have some of the tea left, since I bought a lot; guess I should get back into it!

  3. Sounds wonderful! I love tea and I love smoothies! Great combination!

  4. I love the idea of teas as a smoothie base. I’ve really jumped on the tea bandwagon since trying to limit my dairy intake which meant basically giving up coffee.
