Kaia Foods Granola
Gluten free, Raw
These three words captivated me while perusing the isles at Planet Organic [I do this often to look for new and exciting products. My curiosity for new products always gets the best of me.]
Great tasting, gluten free, healthy [and raw] granola is hard to find. So when I tried my first bowl of Kaia Foods Raisin Cinnamon granola I wasn’t expecting much. Boy was I wrong. One bite and I was hooked on the stuff. I now use their granola as a snack in the car, mixed in almond milk with soaked chia seeds, added to cookies, and sprinkled over coconut milk ice cream.
What are the benefits of raw foods? Simply put – raw foods are in an unaltered state. Their nutrients and enzymes [needed to breakdown the food] are kept in tact because they haven’t been heated past 188degrees. When food is heated it is altered and the molecular structure of the food is changed making the nutrients less available to our bodies. So, to sum it all up, raw food is higher in nutrients, enzymes, and can help improve our digestion.
Anyone who has tried a LÄRABAR can attest to how fantastic they are, unless you don’t like dates like Kevin. I keep telling him that dates are high in fiber, vitamins and minerals and are a natural remedy for constipation, intestinal disorders, weight gain, and cardiovascular issues. But this information doesn’t seem to faze him.
LÄRABAR bars are made from 100% whole food and contain as little as 2 ingredients in each bar. The base of LÄRABAR is made up of dates and flavoured with mixed fruits, nuts, and spices.
Good luck everyone!
