Sleepy Basil Lime Mango Smoothies

Generally I wake up starving, but when it’s this hot all I want to do is lay under a fan, spraying myself with water every couple of seconds.

… don’t judge… I have done this before and it’s absolutely refreshing.

But there was none of that this morning, no, no.

I peeled myself out of bed knowing that there was a sleepy smoothie waiting for me in the fridge.

Cold, quick, light, and satisfying.

I thanked myself even more when I remembered I had made two batches last night – one for me to eat right away, the other to take pictures of and freeze for tomorrow.

Gotta love when you get ahead of yourself and then forget about it. It turns out to be such a nice surprise!

I think using the word “sleepy” makes these smoothies sound even more delicious. And the flavor sounds great too!

I’ve been wondering lately if I can premake my smoothies the night before I need them, and if they’d separate or not, but this version makes more sense – a little less prep work the night before but no worries about separation!

You are a savior! I’ve been finding that I’m really uninterested in breakfast nowadays because of the heat and my butt sitting in front of a computer for hours on end – this is incredibly uncommon for me in general as I’m usually thinking about breakfast before my eyes open. Can’t wait to try this tonight!!!

What a great idea…to put together the ingredients before bed so in the morning all you have to do is blend. I’m definitely going to try this!
