If self-love is overwhelming, sometimes the best place to start is with acceptance: listing positive things that you know to be true about yourself. It sounds silly, but switching your internal narrative from critical to friendly starts with acknowledging and amplifying the good.
Think about the things you appreciate about a good friend — they don’t have to be perfect for you to love them, right? The same can be true about your relationship with your self: you do not have to be perfect to be worthy of love.
