I want...
I’ve been going through an (unplanned) dessert recipe detox since the launch of my dessert cookbook earlier this year. It’s not that I’ve been avoiding desserts, I just haven’t been interested in making them as much. But, realizing that the last sweet treat I shared with you was this Cherry Chunk Protein Ice Cream on…
Jicama. I know what you’re thinking, what the heck is a jicama? I’ll show you!
I am in love with light smoothies right now. Just a touch of fruit, a little water, a bunch of veggies and; if my body needs it, a scoop of protein powder, seeds or healthy oils, and I’ve got a big, summertime smile painted right across my face.

Diarrhea, asthma, bloating and irritability got you down? (Classy way of introducing a blog post… but I got your attention, didn’t I?) If so, you may be suffering from the most common food allergy known to man… cow’s milk. Bummer.
When you’re on a sugar-free or candida diet and the list of foods you can’t have outweigh the ones you can, figuring how to prepare a “safe” dessert is usually just too much to handle. Your cravings get stronger, you’re unhappy, and before you know it, you’re elbow deep in a pint of ice cream.
I went through this crazy taco salad phase a couple of months ago, right around my 27th birthday. No matter what I prepared for dinner, what marvelous things I baked for the blog, or the fabulous meals we enjoyed at restaurants, all I felt like eating was taco salad.
