Flax Seeds

Flax seeds are brown or golden seeds that are high in omega-3 fatty acids. For baking, do not exceed 350°F (177°C). Flax seeds can be purchased whole and then ground in a blender, food processor, or spice/coffee grinder. Alternatively, you can buy them ground. I rarely use flax seeds in their whole form, but I like to purchase them whole and grind them myself because pre-ground have a risk of oxidation.
