Bison and Yak Burgers

Grain-free burgers with quinoa flakes.

Serves: 6

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup quinoa flakes
  • 2 tablespoon grainy mustard
  • 3 tablespoon parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon crumbled dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 lb ground bison
  • 1/2 lb ground yak

Instructions

  1. In large bowl, mix together egg, quinoa flakes, mustard, thyme, salt and pepper. Stir in onions, and parsley, then bison and yak; mix until just combined. Shape into 3/4-inch thick patties.
  2. Place on pan and cook for 15minutes
  3. Add barbecue sauce of your choice (or chili sauce works really well)
  4. Remove pan from oven and pour sauce over patties. Return to oven and bake 30 minutes
