Healthful Hints: Staying Healthy with Quality Exercise + Nutrition

Oh my gosh, I’ve missed you guys.

I got home from London late Thursday night and the first thing I did was make myself a warm meal of steamed carrots, zucchini, and shrimp in a tangy dill sauce.

I slept for what seemed like days, then spent Friday afternoon in my kitchen. It was glorious, and I have a picture to prove it…

I was feeling bright and cheery, what can I say?

But today isn’t about chocolate goodness in a mug- that’ll come later – it’s about making sure you’re getting high quality foods, high quality workouts, and learning to accept that the rest will just fall into place.

Over the past couple of weeks I’ve learned first hand that spending 3 hours at the gym, or hundreds of dollars on specialty foods, may not be the be-all and end-all to obtaining the health and physical results I was looking for.

Today’s healthful hints is about how we can add quality choices to our daily routine to begin to see lasting results!

The Harvard study I mentioned can be found here.

  1. I see you do zwows now. Have you heard of I really enjoy Tatianna’s workouts. I also do zwows and bodyrocked for a year until Zuzana started her zwows. I think you would really enjoy though.

    • Wow awesome! I haven’t heard of Loving Fit. Thanks for sharing, Sus. These workouts are awesome. I love her approach too, very holistic!

  2. Hi Leanne,
First of all I love your blog and your recipes!!! there are truly amazing. So Thank you for sharing.
I meant to ask you:did you completely switch to HIIT or you still going to the gym for weights & cardio sometimes.
I am kind of in between. It takes a lot of my time to try fit everything but I am not sure if only HIIT is enough. What is your opinion?

    • Thanks Izabela! I still need to update my workout page with the details… but yes, I have completely switched to HIIT. I am not a trainer, so cannot tell you for sure, but for me HIIT 6 times per week is yielding awesome results! Good luck with your training :)

  3. Loved this week’s video, Leanne :) Kale is one dark green veggie that I have not yet aquired the taste for, but I wish I could because of all the health benefits it offers! I just can’t get past that bitterness!
