Harvested directly from evaporated seawater or underground resources, sea salt is usually minimally processed. Its unique flavor is best appreciated when used to enhance prepared food at the table. My concern with sea salt is that, due to our increasingly polluted oceans, I’m not 100% confident in its purity. However, it’s still most likely a much safer and more health-robust option than table salt. If you prefer to use all-natural sea salt, then Redmond Sea Salt is a great choice. Harvested in Redmond, Utah, it is not processed or altered in any way. It contains trace minerals, including iodine (not as much as iodized table salt, but more readily absorbable than table salt, according to the manufacturer). It can be found at many grocery stores or purchased online.
