An electrolyte-packed aloe lemonade, lightly sweetened with erythritol, plus cooling aloe, fresh lemon juice, and Himalayan rock salt to quench your thirst and keep you hydrated.

Summer is on the horizon and I’m already giddy at the thought of exploring, canoeing, hiking, swimming, and soaking up some much needed vitamin D. There are so many ways to utilize that keto energy, and I plan on taking advantage of them all!

I'm ready!

Of course, I’ve gotta stay hydrated — keto flu is definitely not on my summer fun to-do list. That’s why I’m sharing this Keto Aloe Lemonade, perfect keeping those electrolytes in check so I can stave off keto “flu” and enjoy a summer packed with adventure. Plus, added aloe supports digestion, loads you up on antioxidant vitamins, and is super refreshing on a hot day. Winning.

This recipe is a great addition to an outdoor picnic, or you can fill up a canteen and drink on the go. Mmm, fresh lemonade.

I used NOW Real Food® Erythritol for this recipe because it’s one of my favorite keto-friendly sweeteners, plus NOW Foods’ Aloe Vera Liquid Concentrate.

Why aloe? Because it…

  • Helps with digestion
  • Has trace amounts of minerals such as calcium, copper, chromium, manganese, selenium, magnesium, potassium, sodium and zinc (because electrolytes matter!)
  • Has the plant sterols luphenols and cycloartanols, which may help to support normal blood sugar management and collagen production.

If you’re on the fence about drinking aloe, or if it’s easier for you to remember to take a supplement, you could always go with the NOW® Aloe Vera Softgels. Aloe is where it’s at!

Okay, let’s get to the recipe…

Ingredients
Instructions
  1. Place hot water in a tall 64 fl oz (1890 ml) glass jug. Add the erythritol, salt and stir until dissolved. Add remaining ingredients and stir until mixed. Divide between 3 glasses, add an ice cube to each, and enjoy.
Notes
If you’re new to keto, start off with ¼ teaspoon of Himalayan rock salt for this recipe. As you get accustomed to drinking salt, you may be able to go as high as 1 teaspoon of pink salt in this recipe.

If supplementing with Aloe Vera Softgels, omit Aloe Vera Liquid Concentrate.

You could also swap out lemons for lime for a fun twist, just make sure you’re using fresh citrus juice (that’s a non-negotiable!).
